  • How do I enrol?

    To enrol with us; please check Enrolment Information page.

  • How do I pay for my course from abroad?

    You can transfer the payment directly into our bank account (details at the bottom of the application form). You can also pay by Credit Card (please complete and return this Credit Card authorisation form to note that there is a Credit Card surcharge of 3%.

  • When can I start?

    You can start on any day, unless you are an Absolute Beginner (we have specific starting dates for Absolute Beginners, please ask reception.)

  • What exams can I take?

    Our General English courses lead to Cambridge University Examinations such as;

    • First Certificate in English (FCE)
    • Certificate in Advanced in English (CAE)
    • Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)

    We also prepare students for the IELTS examination.

  • What happens if my visa is refused?

    You may claim a refund of the tuition fees paid (less £199.00 administrative charges) provided the original copy of the Letter of Refusal from the British Embassy is sent to us by post, together with the original copy of the Certificate of Enrolment issued by the college. Please note that faxed or scanned/emailed copies of the letter of refusal will not be acceptable. Please see our Terms and Conditions

  • What do I do if I need accommodation?

    Our college can arrange accommodation for you through an accommodation agency called Britannia Student Services. You will lose the deposit if you do not cancel booked accommodation at least 10 days before your planned arrival.

    Most accommodation is based in Zone 2, 3 or 4 (30 to 40 minutes from the college by public transport).

  • Do I have to buy a book?

    It is advisable to buy a textbook for each course level you will be attending.

  • What is the number of students in a class?

    At present the average number of students attending a class is 12 with a maximum of 20. Generally morning classes are more popular and therefore bigger than afternoon classes.

  • Is Princes College accredited?

    Princes College is accredited by the British Council and a member of English UK, the world’s leading language teaching association.

  • Where is Princes College situated?

    We are situated one minute’s walk from the British Museum, at 36 New Oxford Street, London WC1A 1EP. The nearest underground station is either Tottenham Court Road (Central and Northern Lines) or Holborn (Central and Piccadilly Lines).

  • How do I complain?

    If you would like to make a complaint the procedure is as follows:

    In the first instance you should speak to your teacher or to one of the reception staff.
    If the teacher/reception staff cannot resolve the complaint you can speak to the Principal or email:, or speak to the Welfare Officer or email:
    If you  feel that your complaint has not been resolved the Principal will refer the complaint to the Directors.
    If you are still not satisfied you can contact English UK, who have an Ombudsman available to receive complaints.
